Welcome to the second newsletter of the 2019-2020 race season, please continue reading for information concerning upcoming club events, news and updates.
We would like to formally apologise for the cancelation of the 24th November race meeting. Unfortunately, due to issues with our insurance we were not legally permitted to race. We would like to thank all of the committee members who have been working tirelessly trying to rectify this issue.
Our first race day will be held on Sunday 19 January, which will be round 1 of the National High Points Series.
We will be implementing a new payment system regarding entry fees this season.
If you wish to race, the entry fee of $100 needs to be deposited into the club’s bank account by midnight Tuesday the 14th of January.
A reminder text message including the club’s bank details will be sent to all known drivers in the weeks prior to this date.
If you do not receive a text message, please contact Carly Day at 0422 713 005 via text to register your details with the club.
Any entry payments paid after midnight Tuesday 19th November will incur a penalty fee of $20, entry fees paid on race day will also include the late payment fee of $20.

Scrutineering will be available on Saturday 18th January 2020 from 1pm – 4pm at the National Water Sports Centre prior to Sunday’s race meeting.
If you cannot make it down to the National Water Sports Centre on the Saturday prior, a second round of scrutineering will take place on race day between 8am – 9am.
All competitors and boats⁄jet skis need to be in the pits by 9am.
Drivers need to be ready for briefing at 9:30am (boats having already been scrutineered)
It is preferable that you have your boats scrutineered on Saturday as it frees up some time for our staff on race day.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help out with the following:
If you know anyone who has a current RSA please encourage them to come down and volunteer at the bar!
The VDBC is always looking for sponsors, if you know of anyone who owns a business, small or large, we would love for them to become a VDBC Sponsor!
Our next fundraiser will be held at 12pm – 6pm on Sunday 1st December 2019 at 13 Kuranda Street, Langwarrin.
Tickets are $100 each, this includes entry into the reverse raffle, live band, and free food & drink on the day.
Kids are welcome and their entry is free.

In the near future we would like to practice and perfect our safety procedures regarding capsule boats and what to do in case of an emergency.

The Committee has been exploring the idea of starting up a Junior League!
If you know anyone between the ages of 12 – 16, who is interested in drag boat racing (J class boats) please encourage them to come down on race day and express their interest!
Nothing is confirmed as yet but we would love to get them involved any way we can!
General Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm at the National Water Sports Centre.
The next General Meeting will be held on the 1oth December.
